Vickie Sue Jones

Born January 6, 1953 in Peoria to Harry and Helen (Shreffler) Sturgis, she married Jacob “Jake” Luther Jones on September 27, 1980 in Pekin. He died May 28, 2023 in Green Valley. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Randy Sturgis.

Surviving are one son, Brian Jones of Farmington; one daughter, Erika (Falisha) Jones of Maroa; seven grandchildren, Jordan (Brandon) Hauersperger of Youngstown, Ohio, Korbyn Krontz of Pekin, Draven Krontz of Clinton, Bentley Tyler, Olivia Tyler, Landon Tyler, all of Clinton and Remington Bateson of Maroa; one great-grandchild due in June; two brothers, David (Shirley) Sturgis of Washington and Harry (Sandy) Sturgis of Buchanan, Tennessee and four sisters, Sheri (Jerry) Dubois of Newport, Tennessee, Debbie Lindstrom of Lexington, Tennessee, Sandy Wiesehan of Washington and Penny (James) McCarroll of Creve Coeur.

Vickie retired after many years as the office manager of the dental practice for Dr. Alan Burge in Pekin.

She was a member and past Regent of Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673.

Vickie was focused on her grandkids and enjoyed watching Roadhouse on TV and was a fan of Patrick Swayze and the movie, Ghost.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
