She was born September 6, 1994 in Peoria to William W. "Bill" and Julie A. (Campbell) Olsen.
Surviving are her fiance', Mason Harper; two sons, Walman and Archie Harper; her mother and step-father, Julie and Rich Taylor of Green Valley; her father and step-mother, Bill and Heidi Olsen of Princeton; her fiancé' parents, Chris and Lori Harper of Lacon and Deb Shipman and Will Smith of Texas; two brothers, Chase (Mariee) Olsen of Manito and Jack Taylor of Green Valley; her maternal grandmother, Joyce Campbell of Manito; her paternal grandmother, Dee Drew of Laguna Woods, California; her maternal great-grandmother, Doris Gagnon of Charleston, West Virginia; several aunts, uncles, cousins and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Walman Gary Campbell; her paternal grandfather, Bill Olsen; maternal great-grandfather, Robert Pritt, step-grandfather, Joe Gagnon and maternal great-grandparents, Lewis and Mary Campbell; her paternal great-grandparents, William and Mildred Olsen and one aunt, Jenny Olsen.
A loving and dedicated fiance', wonderful mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and aunt. Shayla loved spending time with her family, taking her boys to parks and museums. She enjoyed photography, painting, making jewelry, baking, traveling, hiking, spending time on the beach and attending music festivals. Shayla also loved her two dogs, Blueberry and Bingo.
She was loved dearly and will forever be missed and never be forgotten.
A private family graveside service will be Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
