Born February 15, 1929 in Marion to Jacob and Ruth (Turnage) Stephens, she married Leonard Eugene Bullock on September 25, 1948.
Surviving are one son, Franklin Eugene (Terri) Bullock of Iowa; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Clark of Normal; one brother, Walter Stephens of Bloomington; many nieces and nephews and her son-in-law, William “Bill” Fitzanko.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Fitzanko and her brother-in-law, James Clark.
Helena worked for Palmer’s Variety in Manito.
She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, quilting and upholstering furniture. She taught an upholstering class at Illinois Central College. She was an incredibly caring person and was always willing to help others.
Helena was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin, were she taught Sunday school for many years.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday July 22, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
