Phyllis A Morsch

Born November 3, 1935 in Peoria to Gerald Lee and Amelia M. (Rockett) Allen, she married Nick Robert Morsch on September 4, 1954 in North Pekin. He died August 14, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark Morsch; son-in-law, Ken Thurman; and three brothers, Monroe Allen, Jack Allen and Donald Allen.

Surviving are one daughter, Mona Thurman of Morton; one sister, Janis Ward of Champaign; and one brother, Dean (Betty) Allen of Pekin.

A homemaker, Phyllis had worked part-time for 10 years at the Hallmark Store in the Sunset Plaza in Pekin.

She attended First Baptist Church in Pekin for over 50 years and enjoyed volunteering her time with church activities.

Phyllis was an avid golfer and had golfed in leagues at Parkview and Lick Creek Golf Courses in Pekin for many years. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, and taking bus trips with the Roadrunner’s Group from her church. Her greatest joy was being with her family.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Vernon Risner will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
