Opal F Johnson

Born August 30, 1931 in Spring Lake to, Fred and Grace (Beale) Martin, she married George A. Johnson in June, 1950 in Peoria. He died November 26, 1996 in Pekin. Also preceding her in death are her parents and one daughter, Pamela Newcomb in 2002.

Surviving are one daughter, Sandra (Daniel) Davis, Sr. of Manito; four grandchildren, Christina (Dave) Wilson of Kansas City, Missouri, Daniel (Tammy) Davis, Jr of Manito, Tammy Chapman of Clearwater, Florida and Larry Newcomb of Pekin; nine great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

A homemaker, Opal had worked as a dishwasher at Ernie’s Family Restaurant, retiring in 1996.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother, Opal enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the Par-A-Dice, listening to music and visiting with her friends.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
