Michael J O'Dell

Born October 22, 1954 in Elyria, Ohio to Richard Ivan “Dick” and Martha Jane (Yosa) O’Dell, he married Robyn K. Gosch on December 1, 1989 in Creve Coeur. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, David (Taralynne) Cockrell of Lacon and Christopher (Julie) Cockrell of Tremont; four grandchildren, Joshua Cockrell, Caleb Cockrell, Chloe Cockrell and Mason Larucci; two brothers, Rick (Linda) O’Dell of Denver, Colorado and David (Kim) O’Dell of Pekin and two sisters, Diane (Brian) Bennett of Clearwater, Florida and Suzie (Mark) Johnstone of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Timothy O’Dell.

Michael worked as a construction superintendent, last working for Parkway Construction and Architecture in Lewisville, Texas. He was a member of Carpenter’s Regional Council Local 638 of St. Louis and Kansas City.

Michael was devoted to his family and grandkids. He enjoyed gardening and carpentry work, especially restoring his old home and was a perfectionist in all he did.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Russ Rhodes will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral and inurnment will take place in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
