Melvin Eugene Devall

He was born October 7, 1959 in Peoria to Carl and Mona (Diveley) Devall. He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Allen Devall.

Surviving are his father; four children, Dustin Burwell, Jordan Devall both of Pekin, Hannah Wagley of East Peoria and Kriss Devall of Pekin; one grandchild, Sage Wagley and one brother, Elvin Devall.

Melvin was pastor for 14 years, he later taught Sunday school for Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. He worked as an investigator for the Department of Children and Family Services for 28 years before retiring.

He enjoyed music, playing guitar, singing. He sang in the choir for Pekin First Church of the Nazarene and would participate in their yearly passion play. He also loved his dogs and his country.

He was a member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.

A gathering celebrating Melvin’s life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2024 at Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
