Born February 27, 1937 in Pekin to Mario “Hooks” and Opal A. (Lowe) Tosi, he married Mary L. Challberg on February 7, 1958 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Dan Tosi of Pekin; one granddaughter, Tierza Tosi of Pekin; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Luthy of Tucson, Arizona; two nephews, Brandon (Patricia) Luthy of Oracle, Arizona and Kent (Julie) Hamilton of Pekin; two nieces, Kendra (Greg) Wilson of Roscoe and Gia (Randy) Hild of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony Lee Tosi on March 30, 2014 in Peoria; two sisters, Dianna “Tootie” Luthy and Geraldine E. “Geri” Hamilton and one nephew, Kyle Hamilton.
Buck was a 1956 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
He worked for Keystone Steel & Wire Company in Bartonville for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Buck also worked at Andy’s Diner in Pekin, which was owned and operated by his family for many years. Everybody knew Buck because of his easygoing and friendly personality.
An outdoorsman, Buck was an avid duck and goose hunter and was a longtime member of a duck club near Havana. He also enjoyed fishing.
He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Knights of Columbus Archbishop Schlarman Council 3507 in Pekin.
A celebration of life gathering will be announced after the holidays. A private graveside service will be held in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
