Born May 31, 1947 in Kingsport, Tennessee to Frank and Mary (Jones) Crigger, he married Billie Curtright on June 7, 1966. She died February 24, 2009 in Florida. He later married Connie Sue Waggoner on September 4, 2011 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa (Mike) Maxwell of Royse City, Texas and Tina (Ken) Maxwell of Farmersville, Texas two step-sons, Shane Williams of Columbia, Missouri and Ron (Bori) Gilchrist of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren, Jesse (Hannah) Maxwell, Katie (Landen) Wiggs, Olivia Maxwell, Samantha Maxwell, Taven Richards, Ashton Gilchrist, Everly Gilchrist, Ava Maxwell and Andrew Maxwell; three great-grandchildren, Aaron, Elliana and Callie; two sisters, Teresa West and Aimee (Ed) Tarpley, both of Pekin and one brother, David (Lisa) Crigger of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry was a veteran of the United States Army.
He had worked for the City of Oviedo, Florida as a dispatcher for 11 years before retiring in 2009. Following retirement he moved to Pekin in 2011.
Larry enjoyed participating in many sports that included bowling, golfing, playing basketball and softball.
He was a member of Starlight Baptist Church in Winter Springs, Florida.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Randy Justus will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
