Born February 8, 1957 in Decatur to Billy and Helen (Swisher) Lovins, he married Tamie Krus on December 28, 1984 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jeff Lovins of Farmington; one daughter, Jennifer Krus Campbell of Mapleton; seven grandchildren, Sierra, Chase and Kaden Krus, Chelsey, Jordan, Trevor and Kennedy Campbell; one great-granddaughter, Asalynn Price and one sister, Karen (Dan) Earl of Deer Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John had worked as a heavy equipment operator out of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria.
He enjoyed building cars and fishing. John found joy in helping others, but his greatest joy came in spending time with his grandchildren.
His private graveside will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton. Pastor Brad Snoke will officiate.
