John L. Lee

Born August 8, 1951 in Peoria to Howard and Mary (Crull) Lee, he married Cathy Sue Homerin on March 3, 2012 in Manito. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, John (Stacy) Lee, Jr. of Manito; one stepson, Troy Reynolds of Manito; one stepdaughter, Jennifer (Troy) Galvin of Manito; eight grandchildren, Katie Lee, John Lee, III, Jack Lee, Bella Lee, Jeff Reynolds, Ashley Reynolds, Bryant Galvin and Jared Galvin; two great-grandchildren, Hailey Reynolds and Sofia Reynolds; one sister, June (Scott) Underwood of Pekin and one brother, David (Arlene Welch) Lee of Jacksonville, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dan Lee and Mike Lee and one sister, Lynn Andrews.

He was a retired member of Laborers Local 231 in Pekin.

John’s passion was raising and training doves for ceremonial dove releases he conducted for special occasions throughout Central Illinois. He was a member and past president of the National White Dove Release Society. He also supported his wife in her venture as the owner and operator of Artistic Flowers and Gifts in Pekin.

John was a person of faith and enjoyed helping others. He had volunteered at Glorify the Son Ministries.

His memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Glorify the Son Ministries. Pastor David Atterberry will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
