Born July 28, 1943 in Joliet to Gerald W. and Mabel L. (Kief) Hall, Sr., he married Pamela Jo “Pam” Sorenson on June 10, 1990 in Pekin. She died January 30, 2023 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brian Michael “Beef” Cornwell on August 8, 2021 in Peoria; one brother, Gerald William “Bill” Hall, Jr. and two sisters, Verna Louise Richard and Mary Katherine Dupent.
Surviving are one son, Curtis (Christina Nichols) Cornwell of Pekin; five grandchildren, Amber Cornwell, Andrew Cornwell, Aaliyah Herod, Landin McClary and Jackson McClary; two great-granddaughters, Mary and Ember and one brother, Ray Hall of Pekin.
He was a United States Army veteran.
Jack worked for Keystone Steel & Wire Company in Bartonville as an Electrical Supervisor for 18 years, retiring in 2011. He previously worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 24 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing and doing odd jobs around the house, especially working in his yard.
Jack was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin. He formerly volunteered at the church and with Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Pekin.
His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Daniel J. Bishop will officiate. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
