He was born May 14, 1972 in Pekin to Grover Squires and Wilma (Vale) Henrich. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Susan Spradlin; one uncle, Edward Vale; one aunt, Ellen Calloway and his father-in-law, John Henrich and one nephew, Nicholas Gerard.
Surviving are one daughter, Alyssa (Johnathon) Coen of Pekin; one son, Steven Squires of Pekin; two grandchildren, Alivia Nation and Leina Kauhi; four sisters, Connie (John) Gerard of Pekin, Debbie (Bob) Skaggs of Manito, Cindy (Jerry) Hagan of Joplin, Missouri and Stephanie (Glenn) Montgomery of South Pekin; one uncle, William Vale; three aunts, Alice Mae Durham, Bert Keefer and Margie Richardson; eight nephews, one nieces and many cousins.
George worked at the Pekin Public Library in maintenance. He had previously worked welding at Morton Metal Craft.
He enjoyed riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs. George was an excellent father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
A gathering celebrating George’s life will be held 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 105 East Market Street, Manito. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
