Diana Lyn Thiessen

PEKIN ~ Diana L. Thiessen, 73, of Pekin, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria. She formerly resided in Peoria prior to moving to John Evans Supportive Living in Pekin.

Born September 30, 1949 in Hutchinson, Kansas, she was the daughter of John Marvin and Lois Elizabeth (Schroeder) Thiessen. Her parents preceded her in death.

Diana is survived by one brother, Robert Thiessen of Pekin.

She last worked for Walgreens on University in Peoria as a cashier for 5 years, retiring in 2011. She previously had worked as a nurse’s aide for OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for 25 years.

Diana enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting, knitting, painting and making placemats with yarn. She also enjoyed watching movies.

She was a member of the former Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Al Ables will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas. Pastor John Vaughn will officiate.
