Carol Joan Benson

Born December 18, 1935 in Armington to Shannon and Gladys (Bishop) Kindred, she married Melvin Glen Benson on July 22, 1985, in Monroe Wisconsin. He died May 25, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one step-daughter, Janis Benson; two brothers, Leonard Kindred and Wendell Kindred and three sisters, Flourine Marquardt, Marge Norton, and Normadell Post.

Surviving are one daughter, Connie (Van) Pitts of Tacoma, Washington; two step-sons, Jeffery Benson of Knoxville, Tennessee and James (Denise) Benson of Tucson, Arizona; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Wellenreiter of Bloomington; one brother, Bernie Kindred of Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Carol worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in the Administration Department for over 30 years.

She loved spending time with her family, doing a little gardening, and traveling occasionally.

Her memorial service will be Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
