Carmen Grace McCoy

Born July 21, 1932 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to John Brock and Leta Grace (Child) Holt, she married Wilbert Eugene “Gene” McCoy on September 30, 1950 in Rochelle. He died May 21, 2014 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers John “Jack” Brock (Jessie) Holt, Jr. and Edward (Virginia) Holt, a son-in-law, Warren Key and a daughter-in-law, Julie McCoy.

Surviving are one daughter, Cathy Key of Pekin; one son, Scott McCoy of Pekin; five grandchildren, Chantelle (Brent) Walker of River Edge, New Jersey, Shawna Key of Morton, Allison (Kurt) Hutchings of Morton, Josh (Amy) McCoy of Prosper, Texas, Jake (Kristin) McCoy of Morton; eleven great-grandchildren, Larson Walker, Lockton Walker, Lincoln Walker, Lila Grace Hutchings, Marian Hutchings, Gwen Hutchings, Spencer McCoy, Hunter McCoy, Brooklyn McCoy, Claire McCoy and Benjamin McCoy, and many nieces and nephews.

Carmen worked for the United States Department of Agriculture, Farm Service Agency as a Chief Program Assistant for 31 years at the Tazewell County office in Pekin, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin for over 60 years.

Carmen was a former member of the Sunset Hills Golf and Swim Club in Pekin. She loved cooking, cleaning, and functioning as a caregiver. She was an avid baseball fan and delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her private memorial service will be held at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. No visitation will be held. Inurnment will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
