Born February 23, 1931 to Roy Cecil and Ethel Sara Bell (Orten) Beames, she married Norman Lee Rumsey on July 24, 1948 in West Frankfort, IL. He died November 23, 2006. She was also preceded by her parents; three siblings, Roberta Hickman, Ruth Beames, and Frank Beames and one nephew, Donald Gene Rumsey.
Surviving are three children, Joyce Rumsey of Pekin, N. Wayne Rumsey of Greenwood, Indiana and Sue (Don) Loudermilk of Pekin; four grandchildren, Amanda (Lilli) Green of Champaign, Montenique Counterman of Pekin, Chad (Heather) Rumsey and Amanda Rumsey, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Lincoln Counterman, Mercedes Counterman and Parker Rumsey.
She was a member of the YWCA and former member of Women of the Moose.
Anna worked as a nurse’s aide at Lake Manor in Pekin before retirement. Previously she worked in the kitchen at Methodist Hospital in Peoria. She was also a foster parent at Schlarman Children’s Home in Peoria.
She enjoyed working puzzles, coloring, crafting, and scrapbooking.
Anna was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
A gathering celebrating Anna’s life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
