Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm, Friday, June 28, 2024, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Celebration of Life Services will follow at 1:00pm.
Bill was born October 17, 1962, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, a son of the late William C. Parks, Sr. and Ethel Merle Jones Parks. The importance of commitment and determination were values that were instilled in Bill from an early age, and he honored that dedication to both family and task throughout his life.
Bill’s family was at the center of everything he did and he was devoted to helping them in any way. He worked hard to provide for his wife and children, and savored every moment spent with his family, especially his precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill’s respect for the dignity of labor was never more evident than in the auto mechanic work that he did. Over the years he served customers at Haygood/Truck Pro, Harrell’s Tire and Front End, and Shipps Truck Specialist.
In his free time Bill enjoyed racing, both watching races and, in his younger years, racing himself. He also enjoyed fishing and alligator hunting.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Ann King; and siblings, Elizabeth Windham, Patricia Gilbert, and Victor Parks.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Joyce Parks; daughters, Cheryl Parks, and Mary Barnette and husband Tommy; grandchildren, Alexis Toney, Tara Kitchens, Tyler Kitchens, Daniel Barnette, Joey Barnette, Kristany Ryals, Jeremy King, and Joshua Barnette; and several great-grandchildren including Vivian and Greyson Toney.
