Lou Larson O’Neal of Pearl died January 27, 2022 after a lengthy illness. She was 78 years old. She was a member of McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church in Pearl. Lou graduated from Ole Miss then went to LSU for graduate work. Her career in education spanned 42 years, with her teaching in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Roy Lee and Fannie Lou Larson, a sister, Shirley Larson Waller, and a brother, Jim Larson.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Sheri O’Neal of Baton Rouge, Step grandchildren Kayla Randolph and Mallory Randolph Weber (Thomas), great grandchildren Aubreigh and Grant Weber, her twin sister, Sue Larson Elcan, of Pearl, a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Karen Larson, of Arlington, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Lou’s dear friends, Beth Smira and Patty Craft for all the tears and laughter shared and the lifelong friendships. Also thanks to good friends Erica Boykin and Martha Moss. Her family would like to thank the staff members of Wisteria Gardens in Pearl and HomeCare Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Lou and her family in those last days.
A service to celebrate Lou’s life will be held at McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church, 325 Mary Ann Dr. Pearl, MS 39208. Visitation will begin at 10am and service at 11am on February 12, 2022. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Methodist Childrens Home or a favorite charity.
