She was born on August 3, 1943 to the late Billy Moree and Sarah "Wydell" Polk Moree in Columbia, Mississippi. Linda was a longtime member of Johns Baptist Church where she served in a multitude of capacities. She supported the older members of the congregation by volunteering and managing their needs for transportation to doctor's appointments, grocery store trips, and social outings. Linda also assisted in organizing parties at the church for their birthdays and anniversaries. In addition, she was active in the youth program. As song leader, pianist, and organist of the Church as well as their bookkeeper, it was safe to say that if Johns Baptist Church was open, Linda was there whether physically in the building or out in the community assisting with one of the members. In recent years, she attended Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon.
On August 30, 1969 Linda united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, James Maurice Jones, Sr. Together they owned and operated their family farm for over 20 years. Her talent for careful planning served them well, and Linda was truly a compassionate homemaker in every sense of the word.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Moree and sister, Ann Haddox.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, James "Babe" Jones; son, James "Jimmy" Maurice Jones, Jr (Kim); daughter, Monica Foreman (Jason); brothers, Mike Moree (Linda) and Aubrey Moree; grandchildren, Layla Russum (Mike), Reese Jones, Zoe Jones, and Katie Foreman; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other dear extended family members and friends.
