Jewell W. Thomas passed away on Thursday April 6, 2023, age 89, after declining health issues. She was a loving wife and mother always available to assist her family and friends. Born in Taylorsville, MS, Jewell graduated from Pascagoula High School where her late parents, Clyde and Elvia (Nichols) Windham, moved during WWII with her late brothers, Carl and Charles P. Windham, and late sisters, Dimple Parkman and Patty Gaines.
She was a resident of Pearl since 1954. After 59 years of marriage, her husband, John B. Thomas, preceded her in death; both were members of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by their sons, John (“J.T.”)Thomas of San Francisco, Jim Thomas of Pearl, and Jeff Thomas of Brandon.
A visitation for Jewell will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home, 3780 Highway 80 E, Pearl, Mississippi 39208. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 12:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park South, Jackson, Mississippi.
