A come and go Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl.
He was born on July 8, 1946 to George Lewis Hancock and Vera Drane Hancock in Monticello, Mississippi. Danny was a hard worker and provider for his family. He loved the Lord and had a soft heart but a firm voice. Intelligent and a diligent student in high school and college, Danny was also a wise soul who was always happy to stop and have a heart-to-heart offering advice or help children with their homework. Not only a great father, he was known for his love of all of his family. Danny was never one to sugarcoat things, and to put it plainly, he was an all out good man who was simple and old-fashioned. Free time in his younger days were spent golfing which he became very skilled at, growing into a talented and avid golfer. After retirement, Danny could be found watching Ole Miss or New Orleans Saints football and baseball.
Preceding him in death are his parents, George Lewis Hancock and Vera Drane Hancock.
Danny is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Alice Hancock; sons, Chad Hancock and Lewis Hancock; stepsons, Johnny Cronley and Robert Sproles; stepdaughters, Angela Cronley and Frances Sellers; brothers, Larry Hancock and Michael Hancock; sister, Lola Sanders; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; adoring dog, Tootie; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
