Guynell B. Callahan

Guynell B. Callahan, of Palmetto, GA passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 88. Nell, as she was known to her friends, was born February 16, 1936, in Atlanta GA. She was blessed to be raise in Christian home and with the fellowship of Colonial Hills Baptist Church in East Point GA.

Nell attended Jerry Wells Elementary and Russell High School. She was married to the late Reverend Harold Callahan and served with him as he Pastored New Hope Baptist/North Coweta Baptist Church. She was then a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Tyrone, GA until her passing. Nell and Hal were married 71 years before his passing October 29, 2023.

Nell was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Brewer. She is survived by her sons and daughters, Harriet and Curt Garnto, David and Teresa Callahan, Tim and Doreen Callahan, Pamala Danbury and Joy Callahan. She also is survived by her sister, Diane Gail Miller. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be observed on Friday, November 1, 2024, with a visitation hour beginning at 12:00 PM, and the Funeral Service starting at 1:00 PM, in the Chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, GA 30269. The Reverend Phil Johnson, Pastor of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, will officiate the service. Everyone will then meet at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5755 Mallory Rd, College Park, GA 30349 for a graveside service at 2:30 PM.
