Caryle was born on February 21, 1943, in Huntington Park, CA, the second of five children born to August and Marion Schroeter. She is survived by younger sister, Lisa McAlinden of Seaside, OR; Thersa Schroeter of Catawissa, MO, and brother John Schroeter of Bainbridge Island, WA. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Susanne Murray of Ventura, CA.
Caryle spent her senior year and graduated in 1961 from La Puente High School in La Puente, CA. It was there that she met her future husband, Roy Robison, who had graduated the prior year from LPHS, and was an Airman in the United State Air Force. While on leave and visiting the school, their eyes met and it was the beginning of a 62-year love affair.
They were married on July 14, 1962, in St. Martha’s Catholic Church in La Puente. After a honeymoon in Santa Barbara they moved to Roy’s duty station, Edwards AFB in California. In the ensuing years, after discharge from the Air Force, they lived in many places, some of which were Southern California, Wake Island, Guam, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Georgia.
The Robison’s had three wonderful and loving children. The first was Lorie Lynne Robison, born April 11, 1963, at Edwards AFB. She now resides in Memphis, TN, and is a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. The second was Charles Allen Robison, born January 21, 1964, in Bakersfield, CA. He now resides in Kennesaw, GA, and is a pharmaceutical representative. The youngest child was Samual Brian Robison, born February 9, 1972, Visalia, CA, while the family was living on Wake Island. Sam now resides with is lovely wife Jennifer in Wilmington, NC, and is an actor.
Caryle had three beautiful grandchildren: Natalie Rose Smith (Memphis, TN), Nicholis Robison and Sophie Robison, both in Kennesaw, GA.
Caryle was not only a doting and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she worked as a medical assistant and a veterinary assistant. The crowning glory of her career was at the age of 54 she returned to college and earned her AA Degree from Clayton State University: her BA from Georgia State University; and her MA from Georgia State at the age of 60.
She was a voracious reader. Any down time at all would find her with a book in her hands. Even out for a walk or in bed a midnight. In her own words, “She loved words”
Caryle also loved horses and other animals. When living in North Carolina she had her own horse. She named him Geronimo and spent many days riding, jumping and caring for him.
She loved her friends and always had a smile for anyone she met.
Her entire life was devoted to Jesus. Raised a Catholic, but later switched to the Episcopalian Church. Her faith was unwavering and she loved the Lord all her life. And she is finally with Him in His Holy Kingdom.
