Anne Dodson

Anne Lorraine Hertz Dodson, of Fayetteville, GA passed away on September 7, 2019, at 94 years of age. She was born in Columbus, Montana on April 29, 1925. She was raised in Iowa City, Iowa, by her father, George Jacob Hertz, and mother, Frances Maude Berry Hertz. Anne was the youngest of 4 siblings - George, Mildred, and Keith.

After graduating from high school Anne attended nursing school at University of Iowa. She married Cecil Erby Dodson, Jr. and moved to College Park, GA where they raised their family. In 1984 she built a home in Fayette County, GA., where she spent the remainder of her life.

Anne worked as an office manager for two State Farm agents, retiring when she was 80 years old. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Tyrone (previously College Park Christian Church) since 1947 - singing in the choir, playing in the hand bell choir, and various women's organizations.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Dodson Tennihan; her granddaughter, Amy Lorraine Tennihan; her grandson, Matthew Barry Tennihan; and a second grandson, William Christopher Dodson.

The family will receive friends at 10:00am on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at First Christian Church of Tyrone, 294 Jenkins Road, Tyrone, GA 30290, with funeral services beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, GA 30349.
