She was born in Pleasanton, NE on March 13, 1919 to Jess and Lura Fellows. Vivian was raised on a farm along with nine siblings. She met the love of her life, Leo Pierce, and they were married on Dec. 8, 1939. From this union five children were born. She was a wonderful mother and her children and grandchildren cherished the stories she shared regarding her life experiences of which she had many. Her favorite pass times were family, fishing, camping, playing cards, bingo and dabbling in carpentry when she wanted to build something for the family to enjoy.
Vivian is survived by her five children, Richard Pierce of Payette, Myra (Bill) Batcheller of Ontario, Dawna (Andy) Jackson of Payette, June (Ross) York of Nampa, and Cindy (Gary Slone) of Payette; 11 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Whaley, Lois Loveland and Irene Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo; four brothers; and two sisters.
The family especially wants to thank our special angel Reneʹ and the rest of the Wellspring staff for their wonderful care of our mother the past three years. A special loving thanks to Nicole, Cheryl and all the Fruitland Heart n’ Home staff.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 17th at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Services are under the care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
