James Floyd Smith Jr. “Babs” 71 years old of Payette Idaho crossed through the heavenly gates on April 25th 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Babs was born April 29th 1946 in Joplin Missouri to James Floyd Smith Sr. and Bonnie Bonita Smith (Neeley).
Babs lived a life full of adventure. He was brave enough to serve this great country from January 16th 1963 through November 19th 1976 serving as a Armor Crewman for the 1st SQDN 116 Armed CAV. Babs received 3 honorable discharges. After Babs finished his duties with the US ARMY he went on to continue serving the people of our country by becoming a long haul truck driver from 1976~2006, In this time he was able to see the world and all its beauty by visiting every state in the United States with the exception of Hawaii.
For all that knew Babs will forever remember him for his very contagious laugh, outrageous sense of humor, orney personality and short fuse. His biggest passion in life was his family reasoning he had 9 children. Through the years Babs had a gypsy soul until he met the love of his life Tammy in October 1981.
Babs is preceded in Death by his parents James F Smith Sr. and Bonnie Bonita Smith, His Brother Jimmy Dean Smith, His Sister Iva Elizabeth Scott, Son Lenny Lee Smith, Son Cody Ryan Smith and Daughter Schelley Ann Wilson.
Babs is Survived by his Wife Tammy Smith, Children Bertie (Kevin), Shawn (Waynette), James, Amanda (John), Josh (Kristy), Missy (Boy), Siblings Joe (Lynda) Smith, Katie (Roy) Davis, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held May 20th 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at R&L Event Center located at 633 2ND Avenue South Payette Idaho 83661.
