David J. “Jim” Gillette, age 77, of Ontario passed away Tues. May 16, 2017 at a Boise hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Jim was born in (Nampa) Happy Valley, Idaho on Oct. 22, 1939. He grew up in Ontario and attended Ontario schools. Jim worked at many saw mills but most enjoyed the Bates, OR mill where he met his lifelong best drinking, woodcutting, and hunting friends. He was looking forward to pulling his camp trailer back to the mountains for the summer again. When the Bates mill closed, he moved back to Ontario and worked at Americold Corp. until he retired. Jim had a lot of close there too.
Jim is survived by his wife Ann (married forever); three daughters, Denise (Kelly), Nadine (Larry) and Christine (Karl); many grandchildren: Steve Mulvaney, Anna, Alana, Brooke, Britney: Andrea Vega (Damion), Ezra”Squawky”, Naomi: Daniel Shaner (Sue), River, Roan, Kadie: Keri (James) Thornock, Blake, KK, Lexie: Sarah (Mario) Shaner: Madison Gillette Vargas: Syd, Suzie and Sam. Many nieces, nephews and his most faithful four legged friends “Short’s and Tuff”.
His 10yr old son Daryl and stillborn daughter Amy preceded him in death.
