Rufus was born in Shoals, West Virginia on May 4, 1940 to Carl Perry and Maxine Perry (Adkins).
Rufus had a great love for God and family. Having a very generous heart, helping and teaching others along his path of life.
He had a deep relationship with his Heavenly Father and a keen awareness of His guiding hand.
It was with urgency that he desired to share the gospel with others, trying in his own unique way, to lead them to truth.
Rufus also had a special connection with nature. He loved being outside, tilling the ground, planting seed, and looking to God for an increase.
He was multi - talented, building, crafting with preciseness. Having natural ability and ingenuity.
Never lazy, always working, looking ahead ensuring provision for the future.
Rufus is a member of the Church of God.
We have been so very blessed to have had a very committed Husband, Daddy, Papaw in our lives- to God be the Glory!
He is survived by his two daughters, Darlene (Mark) Mortine of Pataskala, Ohio and Arlene (Donald) Orr of Newark, Ohio; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Amanda (Timothy) Smith, Alyssa Walker (Andrew Skaggs), Alex ( Emilee) Orr, Russell (Mindy) Orr; great - grandchildren, Hailey and Grayson Smith, Hayden Crim, Lucas Skaggs, Remi and Rubi Orr, and Ellie Orr; one sister Rachel, two brothers Alfred and Elvin as well as many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends.
In addition to his parents Rufus is preceded in death by his wife Ruby,the love of his life and two precious angel, great- grand babies.
A visitation for Rufus will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Pataskala, Ohio 43062. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Roger Decker.
Rufus will be laid to rest in Pataskala Cemetery, 9545 Creek Rd, Pataskala, Ohio 43062.
