Rex Denver Stover, 87, of Hebron, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1936 in Apple Grove, WV, a son to the late Amie and Louie (Lonz) Stover. Rex was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Air Force. During his working years, Rex and his wife Jan (Margaret) enjoyed remodeling and selling homes, before the term ”flipping” was used. Rex, a welder, retired from from Porcelain Steel Buildings Company, Columbus, Ohio. He and Jan enjoyed traveling the country in their RV for many years. The highlight of their travels was a trip to Alaska. By the early 90’s they decided to move from Ohio to Mission, Texas. They enjoyed playing cards and going to dinners with their many new friends. After many years in Texas, they decided to move to Crossville, Tennessee, again making friends that lasted a lifetime. Rex is survived by his loving daughters, Debra (Bruce) Rhind and Sandra Wyrick; grandchildren, Scott Rhind, Samantha (Zac) Edwards, Jordan Wyrick (Shawn Tingley) and Mallory (Austin Lock) Wyrick; great-grandchildren, Owen Tingley; siblings, Ester Voncile, Eugene Matthew, Bonnie May, Carl Worthy, Mary Elaine, Lester Fremont, and Roxanne, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Stover and granddaughter, Rebecca Rhind; siblings, Charles Randall, Lulu Bell (Sissy), and Roy Chester. Honoring the family’s wishes, cremation will take place. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45428.
