Mary “Jeannie” Stoughton, 78, of Pataskala, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor. She was born on February 28, 1944 in Kansas City, MO, a daughter to the late Richard and Norma (Reed) VanNess. Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Cristina (Jason) Logue; grandchildren, Emma and Brayden Logue, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary is also preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley (Don) Mays and June (Jim) Stuart.
Anyone that knew Jeannie would agree that the priority, main focus and love of her life was her daughter. Second to her was her love for her grandchildren. Her family always came first. If you were her friend, you were also considered family. She would give you her last dollar and the shirt off of her back. Her door was always open and a seat was always waiting for you at her table. She had a zest for life and was always happy, smiling and glad to see you. She loved music and dancing. She loved being outdoors and fishing. She had a green thumb and always had a house and yard full of plants and flowers. She also had a love for animals. Any stray brought home through the years always stayed. Her eyes sparkled when she smiled. She had a childlike innocence to her that let her see the good in everything and everyone. She was a thoughtful, unselfish, loving, nurturing, kind woman. The love that she had in her heart was endless.
The earth lost a good soul but Heaven gained an angel. We celebrate your new journey with Jesus in his Kingdom in Heaven.
