Larry Allen Hinckley, 87, of Etna, Ohio passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. He was born March 31, 1937 in Wells, Minnesota to the late Ruby (nee Krohnberg) and Allen Hinckley. Larry graduated from Burt (IA) High School in 1955. He retired from AT&T after 35 years of dedicated service. Larry loved all sports, especially baseball, golf and his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes. He was an avid golfer, introducing his children and grandchildren to the game and fostering a love for it. He was an active member at Willow Run Golf Course since 1977 and worked there after retiring. In retirement he also started a custom golf club repair business that he enjoyed until his death. Larry was always a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He loved supporting his children and grandchildren in all of their activities and traveling to visit family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara (nee King) Hinckley; children, Cheryl (Bob) Hamel, Barry (Cheryl Boltz) Hinckley, and Brad (Donna) Hinckley; grandchildren, Alexa (Scott) Ruse, David (Allie) Hamel, Olivia Hamel, Taylor Clark, Noelle Boltz, Luke Boltz, Corbin Hinckley, Benjamin Hinckley, and Palmer Hinckley; great-grandchildren, Dawson Hamel, Daisy Hamel, Taylor Clark Jr., and one on the way; siblings Judy (Bill) Schatz, Marilyn (Don) Thomsen, and Carilyn Brehm; a host of nieces and nephews, and other family, friends, and loved ones. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Duane Hinckley. Family and friends may gather for a rosary at 2:30pm, with visitation from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024. A memorial service will begin at 5:00pm at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St. Pataskala, Ohio 43062.
