John Henry Robson, 80, of Pataskala, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. He was born on September 4, 1942 in Lancaster, OH. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Jean of 52 years of marriage and his parents, Henry Hart (1910-1988) and Helen Louise (Snyder) (1914-1942) Robson. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. John graduated from Lancaster HS and the University of Cincinnati in Industrial Management. He worked at Anchor Hocking Glass 23 years as an engineer and a manager. The next 15 years at ITT Automotive as a manager. After retiring he worked part time at Lancaster Greenhouse for 10 years pursuing one of his lifelong hobbies of horticulture. He would like to be remembered first as a Christian, a loving husband, a loving father, a loving papa, a loving friend, a gardener, a carpenter, a musician, a Sunday school teacher, an artist, an engineer, a manager, a good listener, a creator, an adventurer and traveler, a photographer, a believer of Jesus Christ. He is survived by his children, John Phillip (Michelle) Robson, Todd Matthew (Elizabeth Wilson) Robson and Betsy Jo Elick (Reese) Foster; grandchildren, Raedden Robson, Ridge Robson, Jack Robson, Lilly Robson, Anna Marie Robson, Kolton Elick, Harrison Foster and Mason Irwin. Honoring the family’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Summit Station United Methodist Church, 6626 Summit Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062, where John sang in their choir, taught Sunday school, made crafts for the children, and was a trustee. A Memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church on Sunday with Pastor Clark Hess and Pastor Chris Wiseman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summit Station United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 11, Summit Station, OH 43073, for the benefit of The Norma Jean and John Robson Memorial Scholarship Fund. After being reunited with Jean, he will take her on her first flight as a small portion of their remains will be put in a capsule and launched into space, the final frontier returning to earth as a shooting star.
