Beth Haynes, age 77, of Pataskala, Ohio passed away at Tuscany Gardens on August 23, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Beth was born November 27, 1946 in Wendell, Idaho to the late John Earl and Agnes Emily Godfrey Buttars. She is a graduate of Jerome High School. Following graduation, she attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University. Beth lived in Southern California twice during her college years, working as an administrative assistant for North American Aviation in Los Angeles, CA and as a purchasing assistant for Scripps Health in San Diego, CA. It was in San Diego, CA where she met Monty Haynes, who she married in July of 1971. They resided in San Diego, CA while Monty finished out his Vietnam tour, later moving to several Midwest cities including Chicago, Il and Louisville, KY, before settling in Pataskala, OH.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Beth embraced motherhood as a stay at home mom providing a loving, nurturing, and stable environment for her kids. When the children got older, she returned to work and held positions with the school system, J.C. Penney Outlet, Bank One, and Pataskala Eye Care. Beth loved to watch Jeopardy, read, travel, and visit with family and friends. Beth made the world a better place and will be deeply missed by all that loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Monty Haynes; three children Brian (Michelle) Haynes of Hampton, GA, Matthew (Misty) Haynes of Sarasota, FL, and Karen (Andy) Stultz of Marysville, OH; and ten grandchildren, Tony, Jessica, Aaron, and Jon (Bell), Mikayla, Malia, Jaedyn, and Tessa (Haynes), and Tanner and Cooper (Stultz).
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Earl and Agnes Emily Godfrey Buttars, her step-mother Hilda Malmberg Buttars; and siblings, Dorothy Buttars, Charlene Buttars, Venetta Anderson, Chad Buttars, and Lavar Buttars.
Family and friends may gather from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Pataskala, Ohio 43062. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Guernsey County Memory Gardens, 10171 E. Pike Road, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
