William dedicated 38 years of his life to railroading as a switchman for the Houston Belt Terminal, where he also served as the general chairman for the union. He was married to Linda Ann Pahl for 39 years, sharing a life filled with travel and adventure. Together, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home with family, and he loved taking Linda to casinos in every state they visited to play slots. William cherished his time with his dogs, Mandy and Dakota, and in his later years, he enjoyed taking his dog Pistol and taking them to the dog park.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ann Pahl; his father, Edward Otto Pahl; his mother, Pearl Myrtle Hamann Pahl; his brother, Johnnie Pahl; his sister, Joanne Gardner; and his granddaughter, Meagan McLean.
William is survived by his sister, Peggy Shuman; his daughters, Darlene Dean and her husband Bobby Dean, Christie Whitmire and her husband Henry Whitmire; his sons, William Pahl Jr. and his wife Lisa Pahl, Eddie Pahl and his wife Tina Pahl, and Jimmy Kallus and his wife Renia Kallus. He also leaves behind grandchildren Jeremy Musgrove, Jonathon Musgrove, Rachael Futral, Lauren Kallus, Jordan Kallus, William Pahl, Jon Pahl, Garett Pahl, Amber Rogers, Alyssa Taylor, Taylor Pahl, Riley Pahl, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505, on November 26, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same venue from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, with a graveside service from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
William will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love for his family, and his adventurous spirit.
