The memory of Ryan will live on through his parents; Thomas and Yvette Harris and his sister; Chelsea McElvany and her husband Remington, and his grandparents; Mary and Ismael DeLeon, Jack Harris and his fiancé Tracey Hawkins, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ryan was born in Leonardtown, MD near NAS Patuxent River; the base where his father was stationed. After his family separated from the Navy in January 2002, he moved back to his families roots in the Pasadena and La Porte area in Texas. Ryan graduated from La Porte High School in May of 2019 and less than two months later left for the Navy on July 18. Ryan graduated Naval boot camp in September and then went on to his ET (Electronics Technician) "A" School also located in Chicago, IL. In June of 2020, Ryan graduated and was advanced to the rank and rate of ET3. Ryan went on to be stationed at NCTS Hampton Roads located in Norfolk, VA.
Ryan had many loves in life, family gatherings being at the top of that list; there was nothing he loved more than people coming together for celebration. Ryan as expected for his age, loved video games, but he also loved playing board games, table top and card games...anything that brought people together to laugh and have fun. Ryan also loved of the outdoors, whether it be paintball or hiking with his friends, or fishing and hunting with his family. Ryan was always thinking of others, always laughing and smiling and if he saw someone down or unhappy, he would go out of his way to cheer them up. This was usually easy with his genuine smile and his infectious laugh.
Visitation for Ryan will be held on Thursday, 25 August from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and we will celebrate his life and memory on 26 August from 10:00AM to 11:00AM in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
