March 21, 1932 – April 18, 2024
Ruth Ann ‘Sally’ (Johnson) Flick was born on March 21, 1932, in Tionesta, Pennsylvania. She died on April 18, 2024, in Houston, TX (92 years young). Sally was # 5 of 16 children (15 survived) born to Francis and Elmeda Johnson. She was raised on a large dairy farm in Tionesta.
Sally was pre-deceased by her husband of 57 years, Walter Clinton ‘Sonny’ Flick, daughter Bobbie Belle Prasco and son Edgar ‘Eddie’ Clinton Flick. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-laws Debra Ann and William Palko of Houston, TX and Vickie Bernice and Jimmy Fenoglio of North Richland Hills, TX. She is survived by son-in law Philip Prasco of Houston, TX and grandsons Sean Prasco and Steven Palko and granddaughter Michelle Palko Stephens. Sally met Sonny while working at a small diner in Oil City, PA. They fell in love, married on July 7th, 1952, and had 3 daughters and a son. Sonny worked as a mold maker at Oil City Glass Company. A job transfer brought the family to Houston, Texas in 1967. Sally took a job at Kmart and Sonny began his new career at Anchor Hocking Glass Company. After lengthy careers for both, Sonny retired from Anchor and Sally from Kmart. In retirement they enjoyed their grandchildren, watching old classic movies and an occasional casino trip to Louisiana.
Sally was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her world. Sunday was her special day. It was her family dinner day. On Sundays Sally would cook meals fit for a king. No one left her dinner table hungry. She was among the nicest ladies you would ever meet. She never met a stranger. Sally was a strong Christian woman and longtime member of the Woodforest Presbyterian Church. Her faith in God carried her through her final days. She’s now at rest with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her husband, daughter, and son whom she missed dearly since their passing.
