My mother was a strong woman, and very charismatic. she was also very clean, when we were children she made sure we were clean from head to toes. She made our clothes, she taught us to always respect our elders and always tell the truth. She also taught us to stand up for what is right even if we stood alone. 
when we were preteens my mother received the Lord in her heart, because of her Charisma and Love for the Lord many of our relatives and friends received Salvation. The times i have gone back to our hometown Brownsville, i have seen the fruit of her ministry among our relatives.
It was because of my mother that I have a relationship with the Lord and that is something I will always be grateful for.
I loved my mother and I know she loved us in her own way.
One day as we had a talked I told her " I will always be your daughter and you will always be my mom, even though there has been times we have not agreed. I will always love you, like you will always love me.You see mom great relationships are not great because we do not have problems, they are great because both persons care enough about the other to make it work."

My mother-in-law was tough as nails. Strong and willful.  She commanded respect.  Like any family, we'd butt heads from time to time, but I never felt unloved by her.  She never interfered in my marriage but was always there to offer counseling when needed.  She told me that knowing that we had a happy marriage was enough for her...what every mother wants for her children. For that and for the wonderful man she raised to be my husband, I am externally greatful. RIH

Her door was always open..had a party and played baseball in the back feild..she cooked like no tomorrow and always made sure u ate when u came over..i was young but cant forget

I remember when I was upstairs, arguing. I had been drinking n I was mad about life. Mom was telling me how I needed God in my life. I told her, there was no God. That I didn't want to hear all that. She told me never to disrespect God that way n slapped me. So, I went trying to rush downstairs to leave n slid down the stairs. She says, 
" Cristy !!! U ok!?"  I said mumbling, "Yeah"
She tells me, " Vez, pendeja! There is a God. What u get !!"
I would teaser later, that she pushed me down stairs, that's what caused me to believe in God. 
I loved mom's way of always instilling God in our lives. How no matter how she felt, upset, sick or worried. She'd trust that God was gonna make a way. Things were gonna be better. I know she's dancing with the Angels. She's not in pain anymore, but like dad asked me..." How do we deal with this pain?"
Guess we'll do how she taught us...trust that God will come through for us.

My grandma was the best fixer of everything, she loved us so much, tough love but unconditional love....she was the best ever in this whole world. I love you grandma I love you so much may you sing in heaven with the angels.  I'll keep my little light shining for you for always. I miss you so much already
