Linda is survived by her sister, Susie Bentley of Bryan, TX, her adored sons, James and Gary Walker of Houston, TX, their wives Michele and Debby, and her grandchildren Brooke, Elizabeth, Evan, Kyle, and Abby. She is preceded in death by her loving husband James Walker Jr.
Linda was born on March 24, 1949 in Hammond, Indiana to Otis and Fayrean Bench. As a child she traveled the U.S. extensively due to her father’s employment, finally settling in La Porte, TX where she met her high school sweetheart. Jim and Linda married in July of 1966 and remained together raising their two boys until his death in June of 2006.
Linda recently retired from employment at UHCL, after numerous years of working in the Cashier’s Office, where she established lasting friendships with many co-workers.
A visitation and viewing is planned for Thursday, October 16th from 5:00-7:00pm with a funeral to follow on Friday, October 17th at 10:00am. Services will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, Pasadena, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Linda's life.
