Larry Romero, Sr was born on May 10, 1950 to Ralph & Romana Romero in the city of South Houston, Texas. Larry departed from his physical being to his heavenly home on Sunday, November 2, 2014 while in the presence of his loving family. In his younger years, he professed his faith and belief in our Lord and Savior at La Hermosa Christian Church of South Houston. Years later he rededicated his life to Christ at Christian Temple Assembly of God where he and his family are members in Houston, Texas.
At the age of 17 Larry started working with the City of Pasadena. On May 13, 1968, he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he served for two consecutive terms. After his service with the army he continued his employment with the City of Pasadena where he wore many hats and would eventually retire after Thirty-one years as a Foreman of Parks and Recreation. On July 31, 1976 Larry married Virginia Orozco of Pasadena, Texas.
Larry is preceded in death by both of his parents, Ralph & Romana Romero a younger brother, Andrew and his in-laws, Ruben and Estefana Orozco.
He is survived by his loving wife and during their 38 years of matrimony, they had five children: Larry, Jr. and wife Erica, Mia and husband Tipp Major, Louis and wife Cristina, Leroy & wife Gabby and Leo. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Larry III, Romeo, Zoe, Laila, Zada, Aydyn, Marlee, Ozzie & Leroy, Jr.
He also leaves a wealth of other family members including brothers & sisters, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and last but certainly not least, an abundance of friends who will also remember the one that was known as “Big Larry.”
