Pat was born to W. C. Bowling and Etta (Bowling) Wisenbaker. He lived in Pasadena, where he attended school. He was in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and enjoyed playing baseball and camping. He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1971 and was discharged in 1973 when the United States ended their part of the Vietnam War. In 1973, he was hired on at Wilson Industries and got his certification to be an Inspector of pressure vessels and pipes. He met Debra Schwartz in 1974 at Wilson and they married November 1, 1974. He received his GED that same year. They then raised their four children in Pasadena and Seabrook, Texas.
Pat was a true entrepreneur/inventor. He was President/Owner of Bowling Inspection and Expediting Services; President of a jewelry store where he enjoyed designing jewelry; owner of used car lots; and owner/President of Ricochet Table Games, Inc., where he designed “Ricochet” a dice table game and succeeded in getting it in casinos in four states (including Nevada).
Pat enjoyed being with his wife, children, grandchildren, friends and pets. His hobbies included looking at art, being outdoors working on cars, gazing at stars (looking for UFOs), finding a good deal, going to car shows, playing Santa Claus at Christmas, playing chicken foot, monopoly, farkle, poker, and card games with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing the lottery (and was very lucky at it) and listening to 740AM Houston KTRH radio.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents and his son Christopher J. Bowling. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie; his children, Carl P. Bowling of Oklahoma, James P. Bowling and wife Terri of Katy, Amy L. James and husband Eric of California, and Melissa D. Dollens of Houston (Clear Lake). Wisenbaker of Pasadena; brother, Jerry Bowling and wife Paula of Liberty; sister Julie Miller and husband Gene of Pasadena; stepsister Natalie Aalto and husband David of North Carolina; stepbrother Andy Wisenbaker of Pasadena; and a host of dear nieces and nephews and extended family.
