Glenda Marie Miller passed away on February 7, 2014 in La Porte, Texas at the age of 62. She was born on June 26, 1951 in Church Point, Louisiana to Luther and Rena Doucet. Glenda moved to Texas at a young age and attended Sam Rayburn High School, where she was a member of the “Texanns” dance team. She was a person of high intelligence, who was kind and generous. Glenda was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz novels. She loved her family and animals deeply. Each morning she would have her coffee and share her favorite powdered donuts with her beloved dogs, Sasha and GiGi.
Glenda is preceded in death by her father, Luther Doucet; and brother, James Doucet. She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Michael Miller; 2 sons, Sean Miller and his wife Lily and Chris Miller and his wife Skye; mother, Rena Doucet; sister, Terrie Hinojosa and her husband Edgar; 4 grandchildren, Vance Miller, Alyssa Miller, Brye Miller, and Gabriella Miller. Glenda is further survived by her dear friends, Judy and Gene Hemmingway; as well as her much-loved dogs and parrot, Sasha, GiGi, and Morgan. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Grand View Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in Grand View Memorial Park.
