It would be wrong to say that Imogene lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Imogene stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance really look like. Just because she is not here does not mean she lost her fight.
Dorothy Imogene Morgan was born on August 7, 1939 in Lee County, Texas to Harold and Yolan Morgan. Imogene was the oldest of 6 children, she had 4 sisters and 1 brother. Imogene was a loving wife to Johnny "Rudy" Phillips until his passing in 1983. Imogene and Rudy had 3 children, Steve, Beverly and David.
