Sandy passed away after a long battle and shorter war on December 11, 2020 at Parksville, B.C. Born in Prince Rupert to Skip and Sandy Storrie on June 18, 1948, she was brought up and went to school there, leaving in her early twenties. Sandy leaves behind her younger sister Sharon Sorensen of Alberta.
San also leaves behind her loving husband of over 48 years Doug. Her children Dawn (Rene), Mark (Tara) and Troy. Grandchildren Kaitlyn, Alex, Matt and Aleiha. Sandy was lucky to have another family, Mark (Maria) grandchildren Jeni, Thomas, her special grandson Ben, and Alex all in the UK.
She also leaves nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sandy always considered Victoria home. She and Doug raised their family and lived-in numerous homes in Gordon Head. After health experiences and nurturing her children she went back to work. Starting off at Glendale then Seven Oaks and Finally Oak Bay Lodge before retiring.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bax and Bridger and all the others for their support and help during all these battles.
A special thanks to Dr. Susan Hunter and the Palliative Care Team at Oceanside Health for everything done to help Sandy along her journey.
We cannot in words put our heartfelt feelings to those special nurses at Trillium Hospice for their support and love to Sandy and family in her final days. You are one special group of ladies.
As per Sandy’s request there will be no service, but a private interment of her ashes will take place at Royal Oak at a later date.
No Flowers please, make a donation to the MS Society, BC Cancer or Oceanside Hospice Society in Sandy’s name.
