Samuel E. Newhouse

He was born October 20, 1924, a son of the late Samuel Ernest Newhouse and Katherine Racheal Peters.

Sam was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. He retired from Mullen Motors after 42 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, growing both vegetables and flowers. He loved to preserve his homegrown vegetables and share them with others. In his free time, he enjoyed painting, reading, and carpetering. Sam was happiest when he was outdoors. He enjoyed nature to the fullest. He was a skilled mechanic and loved working on cars. He enjoyed the many friendships he made as a member of the Lions club. Sam found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his children, Cheryl (James) Sharp of Parkersburg, WV, Sandra (Craig) Harkins of Parkersburg, WV, Carolyn (Robert) Curfman of Davisville, WV, Gail (Roger) Park of Waverly, WV; brothers, Delbert Newhouse, Gerald Newhouse; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nada Hathaway Newhouse; daughter, Jenifer Spencer; brothers, Charles W. "Bill" Newhouse, David Newhouse, Robert Newhouse, Carl Newhouse, Henry Newhouse; sisters, Wanda Hall, Eleanor McClung, Virginia Stutler, and Ruby Hewitt.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Saturday December 28, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
