He was born September 10, 1937 to the late Bradley Truman Currey and Elsie Jane Keebaugh Currey.
Ira graduated from PHS in 1957. He was employed with Dupont from 1958 to 1993. He loved his family and get togethers. Ira enjoyed tractor restorations, hunting, and wood working.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Humphries Currey; sons, Jeff (Lois) Currey of Parkersburg, David Currey of Parkersburg, Matt (Kelli) Currey of Pennsylvania; daughter, Susan (Danny) Varner of Washington, WV; brothers, Paul (Ruth) Currey, Wayne (JoAnn) Currey; sisters, Phyllis (John) Flinn, Barbara (Dale) Carr; grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda, Kelsey, Will, Leah; and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Currey.
Due to the COVID pandemic, there will not be a funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Sunset Memory Gardens.
