She was born in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of Blake and Daisy Messner. She was retired from Bureau of Public Debt after 32 years of service. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed following her grandchildren in various school and sporting events. She was an avid supporter of both Parkersburg South and Williamstown High Schools.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Shamblin of Mineral Wells, and Pam (Terry) Smith of Williamstown; two granddaughters, Courtney (Shawn) White of Fort Wayne, IN; Brooke Smith of Williamstown; four grandsons, Mike (Alisha) Shamblin of Mineral Wells, Josh (Anne) Shamblin of Williamstown, Matt (Cassandra) Shamblin of Parkersburg and Shane Smith of Birmingham, AL; twelve great-grandchildren; and many beloved sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William R. Mace; sister and brother-in-law Martha and Paul McCutcheon and son-in-law Michael L. Shamblin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 31st at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV, with Pastor Jon Lands officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday.
