Doyle Duane Smith

He was born May 6, 1931, in West Union, WV, a son of the late Otha E. and Ruth E. (Squires) Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jean Smith; son Michael D. Smith; daughter Debbie Goodwin;sisters, Sally Underwood, Patty Gain and one brother Bob Johnson.

Doyle graduated from Doddridge High School and was the Produce Manager for Kroger with several years of service. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Randy Smith (Carolyn) of Parkersburg, WV, Christi Merrill (Dan) of Slate, WV, Rodney Starcher (Denise) of Washington, WV, David Starcher (Debbie) of Spencer, WV, Jeanne Hughes (Frank) of Slate, WV, Jeannette Ketterman (Bruce) of Washington, WV, Diana Kersey (Charlie) of Walton, WV; daughter in law Connie Smith of Washington, WV; grandchildren, Wyatt Smith, John Murray, Josh Murray, Terra Barry, Justin Ketterman, Greg Starcher, Jeremy Starcher, Jason Starcher, Michelle Maze, Jessie Smith, Heather Smith, Tim Thomas, Aimee Cross, Melinda Knight and several great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the funeral home.
