She was born April 7, 1938 in Oak Hill, WV, a daughter of the late Carlas Caldwell Sr. and Barbara Caldwell.
Barbara was a devoted Christian, deeply rooted in her Baptist faith. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a former teachers aid and bank teller at United National Bank. She was a docent at Blennerhassett Island from 2004-2017, providing tours of the mansion, and sharing the history of the house and the land. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and games. To know Barbara was to love her, and she will be truly missed.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her sons, Timothy Nichols (Regina) of Theodore, AL, Todd Nichols (Tina) of Robuck, SC; daughters, Tammy Barrett (Rod) of Davisville, WV, Terri Linzenmeyer (David) of Taylor,TX; brother, C.W. Caldwell Jr. of Ravenswood, WV; sister, Sallie Adkins of Covington, TN; grandchildren, Mathew(Laura) Barrett, Eric(Morgan) Barrett, Cody (Susan) Barrett, Liz(Wes) Merrifield, Jenna (Mike) Cole, Joshua(Kati) Nichols, Ashley Nichols, Morgan Nichols, Michael(Karina) Linzenmeyer, Nicholas (Tori) Linzenmeyer, Debbie(Chris) Szima; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jaron, Kay, Breya Barrett, Mya, Channing, Ace Barrett, Katarina, Calvin Barrett, Wyatt, Preston Merrifield, Harper, Holden Linzenmeyer, Lillian, Conner Szima, Joseph Linzenmeyer, Hollie, Desirea, and Mason Cole.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. "Nick" Nichols, of 44 years.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Saturday December 21,2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
