Roy Earl Henderson

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services, with Masonic Rites, for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12th at First Baptist Church Bogata with Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in Bogata Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Henderson, the son of John Richard Henderson & Georgie Slover Henderson, was born Oct. 8, 1931, near Plainview, TX. He honorably served in the United States Army and the National Guard. He was an entrepreneur in cement and concrete construction for many years. Roy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Bogata where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed his time volunteering with the Texas Baptist Men. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

His parents, a grandson, Toby Sears, a great grandson, Hayden Pruett, and three brothers, Carl, Bill, and Stanley Henderson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Clark Henderson, whom he married on Dec. 26, 1953, building 70 years of family and memories, two children, Vicki Bond & husband Doug and Ricky Henderson & wife Gena, a brother, Ronald Henderson & wife Freda, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Ricky Henderson, Jason Sears, Christopher Henderson, Danny Barton, Keaton Sears, and Kamren Sears. Honorary bearers will be: Matthew Henderson, Ronald Henderson, and Deacons of the First Baptist Church Bogata.
